This Baked Salmon in Foil is an easy, reliable dinner that turns out tender and flavorful every time. Wrapped in foil with simple seasonings, it bakes quickly, stays moist, and makes cleanup effortless, perfect for busy weeknights or stress-free entertaining.
Preheat your oven to 400°F/200°C (356°F/180°C fan-forced).
Tear off two large pieces of aluminum foil (large enough to wrap around the salmon). Place fresh rosemary sprigs on the aluminum foil.
In a small bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter, salt, black pepper, minced garlic cloves, and juice from half of the lemon. Stir well to combine.
Place the boneless salmon fillet on the prepared foil. Use a spoon to evenly spoon the marinade mixture over the top of the salmon, ensuring it’s well-coated. Lay lemon slices on top of the salmon.
Fold the sides of the foil over the salmon, creating a secure pouch. Make sure it’s tightly sealed to lock in the moisture.
Place the foil packet on the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 10 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Carefully open the foil, and serve the salmon with your choice of side dishes.
Notes
Choose the Right Salmon: Make sure your salmon fillet isn’t too thick, or it might need a little more time in the oven. A thinner fillet works great for a 10-minute bake.Don’t Overdo the Marinade: Spoon the marinade over the salmon gently. You want just enough to coat it nicely, not drown it. The butter and lemon will keep the salmon moist.Seal the Foil Well: When you wrap the foil, make sure it's tightly sealed. This helps trap all the juices inside and makes the salmon extra tender and flavorful.Check for Doneness: After 10 minutes, check the salmon by gently pressing it with a fork. If it flakes easily, it's done. If not, give it a couple more minutes, but keep an eye on it so it doesn’t dry out.Flavor Boost: Fresh rosemary and lemon are key to bringing out those bright, aromatic flavors. Don’t skip them, they make all the difference!
