This honey garlic chicken breast is juicy, sticky, and packed with flavor. Cooked in butter and coated in a glossy honey garlic sauce with soy sauce and apple cider vinegar, it is an easy chicken breast recipe for a quick weeknight dinner.
Prepare the honey garlic chicken breast by cutting the chicken breasts into diagonal slits in both directions, then season with salt and black pepper.
Place the flour on a plate and lightly coat each chicken breast, shaking off any excess.
In a large pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on all sides and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
Add the remaining butter to the pan and let it melt. Reduce the heat to medium.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes, stirring, until fragrant.
Pour in the apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Stir well and cook until the sauce becomes thick and glossy.
Cover the pan and cook for 5–8 minutes, tossing the chicken in the honey garlic sauce until evenly coated.
Add the chopped parsley to the pan and cook for 1–2 minutes, tossing gently to combine.
Remove the honey garlic chicken from the heat, transfer to a plate, and drizzle with any remaining sticky honey garlic sauce.
Notes
Cutting the Chicken: I like making shallow diagonal slits because it helps the sauce soak in better and keeps the chicken juicy.Light Flour Coating: A thin coating of flour helps the chicken develop a golden crust and also helps the sauce cling to the meat.Garlic Timing: I sauté the garlic just until fragrant so it adds flavor without becoming bitter.Sauce Texture: Let the sauce simmer until glossy so it coats the chicken beautifully.
