This BLT Dip is a creamy, cheesy party dip made with crispy bacon, fresh tomatoes, shredded romaine, and crackers for serving. It has the flavor of a classic BLT sandwich in a simple chilled appetizer.
Heat 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add 10 slices bacon and cook until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and let cool before chopping.
In a large bowl, mix 200 g cream cheese , 120 g sour cream, and 120 g mayonnaise until smooth.
Stir in ¼ tsp salt, 1 tbsp garlic powder, and 1 tbsp onion powder. Add 180 g shredded cheddar cheese, most of the chopped tomatoes, and most of the chopped bacon. Mix until well combined.
Spread the mixture into a serving dish. Top with the 50 g shredded romaine lettuce, remaining 60 g shredded cheddar cheese, remaining tomatoes, and remaining bacon.
Chill until ready to serve and serve with crackers.
Notes
Soften the Cream Cheese: I like to let the cream cheese sit at room temperature before mixing. It blends much more easily with the sour cream and mayonnaise and creates a smoother dip.Crisp the Bacon Well: Cook the bacon until it is deeply golden and crisp. This helps it keep its texture and prevents it from becoming soft once mixed into the dip.Dry the Tomatoes: I like to pat the chopped tomatoes dry with paper towels before adding them. It helps keep the dip thick and creamy instead of watery.Add the Lettuce Before Serving: For the freshest texture, sprinkle the shredded romaine over the top shortly before serving so it stays crisp and fresh.Store Leftovers Properly: Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The lettuce may soften slightly over time, but the dip will still taste great.
