This BLT Dip takes everything people love about a classic BLT sandwich and turns it into an easy, chilled appetizer. Crispy bacon, fresh tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and a creamy cheese-filled base come together in a dip that always disappears quickly.

Why You'll Love My BLT Dip
- All the flavor of a classic BLT sandwich in an easy dip.
- Perfect for parties, game days, and family gatherings.
- Made with simple ingredients that are easy to find.
- Can be prepared ahead of time for easy entertaining.
A friend brought a BLT dip to a summer gathering years ago, and I remember how quickly people gathered around it. It wasn't anything complicated, but the combination of bacon, lettuce, and tomato was familiar enough that everyone kept going back for another scoop. Since then, I've made my own version countless times for parties, family get-togethers, and appetizer spreads alongside recipes like Spinach Artichoke Dip and Mozzarella Sticks.
What makes this recipe work so well is the balance of textures. The creamy mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and cheddar cheese creates a rich base, while the bacon adds crunch, and the tomatoes and romaine keep everything fresh. Unlike many party dips that feel heavy after a few bites, this one has enough freshness from the vegetables to keep it light and easy to enjoy with crackers, toasted bread, or even next to something heartier like Buffalo Chicken Wraps.

Key Ingredients in BLT Dip
You'll find the exact measurements in the recipe card, but here's a closer look at key ingredients and why I use them.
- Bacon & Olive Oil: I start with a little extra virgin olive oil to cook the bacon until crisp. The bacon is what gives this dip its classic BLT flavor, so I like it golden, salty, and crunchy.
- Creamy Base: Cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise make the dip thick, smooth, and easy to scoop. I like this mix because it gives the dip a rich base without needing to bake it.
- Seasoning & Cheese: Salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and shredded cheddar cheese add more flavor to the creamy base. The cheddar also makes the dip feel more filling and party-style.
- Fresh Toppings & Crackers: Tomatoes and shredded romaine bring the fresh BLT flavor. I like adding them on top so the dip still feels light, then serving everything with crackers for scooping.
How to Make BLT Dip
You can find the complete printable recipe with measurements below, but for now, here's a quick overview of how it goes:

1. Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain, then chop into small pieces.
2. Make the Creamy Base: In a large bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth.
3. Add the Mix-ins: Add salt, garlic powder, and onion powder, and stir until well combined.
4. Incorporate Cheese, Tomatoes, and Bacon: Fold in ¾ of the shredded cheddar, diced tomatoes, and crumbled bacon. Mix gently until evenly combined, then spread the mixture into a serving dish, garnish with BLT Dip and cheese.

What Makes This BLT Dip Taste Like a BLT Sandwich
The combination of crispy bacon, fresh romaine lettuce, and juicy tomatoes gives this dip the same flavors people expect from a classic BLT sandwich. The creamy base replaces the bread while bringing all the ingredients together into an easy appetizer that can be scooped with crackers. Every bite delivers the familiar balance of salty, fresh, creamy, and crunchy textures.
Tips for a Creamy, Fresh BLT Dip
Let the Dip Chill Before Serving: I like to refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving. This gives the flavors time to come together and makes the texture even creamier.
Chop the Bacon Into Small Pieces: Smaller pieces of bacon distribute more evenly throughout the dip, so you get a little bacon in every bite instead of large chunks in just a few scoops.
Use Freshly Shredded Cheese: I prefer shredding the cheddar myself rather than using pre-shredded cheese. It blends more smoothly into the dip and gives a better texture.
Serve on a Wide Dish: A shallow serving dish works better than a deep bowl because it allows more of the bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese toppings to be visible in every serving.
Can I Make BLT Dip Ahead of Time?
Yes. You can prepare the creamy base several hours or even a day ahead and keep it covered in the refrigerator. For the best texture, add the romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon shortly before serving.
How to Store BLT Dip
Store the dip covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For the best texture, keep the romaine lettuce separate and add it just before serving. If the dip has already been assembled, you can refresh it with a little extra lettuce and tomato before serving leftovers.
