200gkale1 bunch, stems removed and torn into bite-sized pieces
1tablespoonextra virgin olive oil
¼teaspoonsalt
¼teaspoonwhite pepper powder
Instructions
Wash 1 bunch kale (about 7 oz / 200 g) thoroughly under cold water and dry it completely using a salad spinner or paper towels.
Remove the thick stems and tear the kale leaves into bite-sized pieces.
Add the kale to a large bowl with 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil, ¼ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon white pepper powder. Toss until evenly coated.
Arrange the seasoned kale in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry at 375°F / 190°C for 3–5 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the kale is crispy and lightly golden around the edges.
Remove the kale chips from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Dry the Kale Well: Wet kale will steam instead of crisp, so I always dry the leaves really well before seasoning them.Use Just Enough Oil: I like using only 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil because too much can make the chips heavier instead of light and crisp.Check Early: Kale chips can burn quickly in the air fryer, so I usually start checking them around the 3-minute mark.Let Them Cool Slightly: The chips crisp up even more after sitting for a minute or two out of the air fryer.
