Lemon honey ginger tea is an easy homemade recipe made with fresh ginger, lemon, and honey. A simple, make-ahead drink that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Peel the lemon, cut it into thin slices, and put them on a plate.
Peel the ginger, and grate over the lemon slices.
Peel the garlic cloves, then use a garlic press to finely crush them over the lemon slices.
Pour lemon juice and add honey, stirring until well combined.
Place the lemon honey ginger mixture in a jar. Seal the jar and place it in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
In a small saucepan, boil water. Add 2 tablespoons of the lemon honey ginger mixture to a teacup. Pour in boiling water and stir until well mixed.
Notes
Sterilize Your Jar: I like to wash the jar really well and rinse it with boiling water before adding the mixture, as this helps it stay fresh longer.Infusion Time: Let the mixture rest in the fridge for at least 24 hours so the flavors can blend properly; I find it develops a richer taste with time.Serving Suggestions: Start with 2 tablespoons per cup of hot water, adjusting to taste as you go; I usually tweak it depending on how strong I want it.Water Temperature: Let boiling water cool slightly before pouring it in; I do this so the honey keeps its flavor and natural qualities.Straining (Optional): You can strain out the lemon, ginger, and garlic for a smoother drink, or leave them in for more intensity; I sometimes keep them in for a stronger finish.
