These oven baked pork steaks are coated with savory pork seasoning and extra-virgin olive oil, then baked until juicy and tender. They need only four ingredients and 30 minutes of preparation and cooking, with optional marinating for deeper flavor.
Preheat the oven to 400°F / 200°C. Pat 4 boneless pork steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Place the pork steaks in a baking dish. Add 1 tsp salt, 4 tbsp pork seasoning, and 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, then rub the mixture evenly over every side. Bake them immediately, or cover and marinate for 30 minutes if time allows.
Arrange the oven-baked pork steaks in a single layer with a little space between them. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the thickest part reaches 145°F (63°C).
Remove the pork steaks from the oven and allow them to rest for at least 3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Optional Marinating: The pork steaks can go straight into the oven when I need a 30-minute meal. When time allows, I marinate them for 30 minutes so the seasoning has longer to develop.Account for Thickness: Pork steaks vary in thickness, so begin checking them at 20 minutes and rely on their internal temperature rather than time alone.Check the Seasoning: Store-bought pork seasoning may already contain salt. Check the label before adding the separate salt to prevent overseasoning.Allow a Short Rest: Leave the pork untouched for at least 3 minutes after baking. This helps retain its juices while completing the recommended resting period.
