3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

The Easiest 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies You'll Ever Make

I've made these 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies more times than I can count, especially when I'm craving something sweet without pulling out half the pantry. It's one of those simple recipes that seems almost too easy, with just peanut butter, sugar, and an egg, yet it somehow always hits the spot.

These peanut butter cookies with three ingredients turn out perfectly soft, a little chewy in the middle, and full of that rich, peanut buttery flavor I love. They're great just as they are, nothing fancy, just a simple gluten-free cookies that always delivers.

⭐Why You'll Love My Recipe

  • Only 3 Ingredients: Peanut butter, sugar, and an egg; that's all you need!
  • Quick and Easy: From mixing to baking, the whole thing takes less than 20 minutes.
  • Perfect for Last-Minute Cravings: When you want something sweet but don't want a complicated recipe, these cookies save the day!

🧾Ingredients

Here's the breakdown of what's in this 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookie recipe:

  • Peanut Butter: I like using creamy peanut butter because it gives the cookies a soft texture that holds together beautifully. It's smooth, rich, and makes the base of the dough really easy to work with.
  • White Sugar: I use white sugar for that classic cookie sweetness and a crisp edge. It balances the richness of the peanut butter and gives the cookies a golden finish.
  • Egg: Just one egg binds everything together and gives the cookies that soft, chewy texture in the center. It's simple, but it works perfectly.

👩🏻‍🍳How to Make 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

You can find the complete printable recipe with measurements below, but for now, here's a quick overview of how it goes:

process 1-4

1. Make the Dough: Mix peanut butter, sugar, and egg in a bowl until a thick dough forms.

2. Shape the Cookies: Scoop 1.5 tablespoons (35g) of dough portions, roll into balls, and place on the baking tray.

3. Press the Pattern: Press each cookie with a fork in a crisscross pattern to shape your 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies.

4. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) or 310°F (155°C fan-forced) for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm.

💭My Tips for Recipe Success

Use Classic Peanut Butter: I always go for shelf-stable peanut butter; natural versions can be too oily or dry for this dough.

Use a Room Temperature Egg: I take the egg out a bit earlier so it mixes more easily with the peanut butter and sugar. It helps the dough come together more smoothly.

Let them Rest Before Moving: The cookies come out soft; letting them sit helps them firm up and stay together.

Storage: I keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature. They stay soft for days and don't dry out.

Ingredients

  • 250 g Peanut Butter - creamy or chunky
  • 200 g White Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F/175°C or (310°F/155°C fan-forced). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, sugar, and egg. Stir until a thick dough forms.
  • Scoop out small portions of dough (about 1.5 tablespoons each /35 g) and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking tray.
  • Use a fork to press each cookie down in a crisscross pattern. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  • Let the cookies rest on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Mix Everything Well: I like to stir the peanut butter, sugar, and egg together until the dough is smooth and thick; it only takes a minute, but makes a big difference.
Don’t Skip the Fork Marks: I always press the tops with a fork in both directions; it gives them that classic peanut butter cookie look and helps them bake evenly.
Watch the Oven Time: I take them out as soon as the edges start to turn golden. They look soft, but firm up as they cool.
Cool Before Moving: I leave them on the tray for about 5 minutes before touching them; otherwise, they can break apart.
Try a Twist: Sometimes I add a pinch of salt or a few chocolate chips just for fun; it’s an easy way to change them up.
