🧾Ingredients
Here's what you'll need to make these amazing baked pork chops.
- Pork Chops: The main ingredient of this dish, giving it its protein. Decide between bone-in or boneless pork chops according to what you like. I like bone-in because they give more flavor and juiciness. Pork chops that are at least 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick work best.
- Salt: Boosts the pork chops' natural taste and makes the meat tender. It's also important for seasoning the dish.
- Pork Chop Seasoning: Made with dark brown sugar, smoked paprika, cumin, and other spices, this seasoning mix adds richness, depth, and a bit of sweetness to the pork chops. It brings out different flavors like smokiness from the paprika, warmth from the cumin, and a little kick from the spices.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil: This oil is used for cooking and mixing the spice blend into a paste for marinating the pork chops. It helps create a crispy outer layer and adds richness. I prefer extra virgin olive oil for its flavor, but you can use a different oil like sunflower or butter if you like.

These step-by-step instructions and photos will help you to visualize how to make this recipe. See the recipe card for a printable version of this recipe.
1. Use paper towels to pat the pork chops dry and remove any extra moisture.
2. Put the pork chops in a bowl and add salt, pork chop seasoning, and extra virgin olive oil.
3. Rub the seasoning all over the pork chops and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
4. Put the seasoned pork chops on a baking tray.
5. Cook the pork chops in the oven at 190°C / 374°F (for a regular oven) or 170°C / 338°F (for a fan-assisted oven) for around 17 minutes. Make sure the inside of the pork chops reaches 145°F (63°C). Turn them over halfway through cooking. To get a golden crust, broil them for 3-4 minutes at the end.
6. When done, take the pork chops out of the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve the baked pork chops hot and enjoy!
🍽 How to Serve
I enjoy serving pork chops with a salad like Cold Stuffed Tomato Salad, Pasta Salad, Waldorf Salad, or Potato Salad and some Bubble Potato Pillows or Crispy Smashed Potatoes.
💭Tips for Recipe Success
Seasoning: Be sure to coat both sides of the chops with the seasoning, and also get it around the edges. This way, you'll have the most flavor in every bite!
Baking time: I recommend baking them for a bit less time because it's better to check earlier than to wait too long. Don't broil them until they reach 60°C (140°F) inside, which might take a few minutes more than the recipe says. My pork chops, about 1 inch thick, were done in 14 minutes.
Resting time: Don't forget to let the meat rest; it really helps keep it tender.
❓Commonly Asked Questions
You can check if pork chops are done by using a meat thermometer. Make sure the inside temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare or 160°F (71°C) for medium. Also, check that the juices run clear without any pinkness.
