🧾Oreo Balls Ingredients
Here’s the breakdown of what’s in this Oreo balls recipe:

- Oreo Cookies: I stick with classic chocolate Oreos because they give the perfect sweet, crunchy base. When crushed, they create a tasty, textured filling that holds together nicely with cream cheese. You can swap for golden Oreos if you prefer!
- Cream Cheese: I use room-temperature cream cheese for a smooth, creamy filling that balances the Oreo crunch. It adds a slight tang that stops the balls from being too sweet while helping everything stick together.
- Chocolate (Dark or White): I like to use chocolate bars for coating. Melted chocolate forms a smooth, glossy outer layer. Dark chocolate gives a richer, deeper flavor, while white chocolate is sweeter and creamier. Either way, the chocolate makes the Oreo balls look irresistible.
- Coconut Oil: A little coconut oil helps the chocolate melt smoothly and gives it a shiny finish. It also adds a subtle tropical flavor, especially with dark chocolate, but you can swap it for vegetable oil if you prefer.

👩🏻🍳How to Make Oreo Balls
These step-by-step instructions and photos will help you to visualize how to make this recipe. See the recipe card for a printable version of this recipe.

1. Crush the Oreo cookies finely using a food processor or by sealing them in a plastic bag and rolling them with a rolling pin.
2. Use a spatula to beat the cream cheese until smooth, about 1 minute.
3. Mix the Oreo crumbs and cream cheese until smooth and fully blended.
4. Shape the mixture into 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls and place them on a parchment-lined cutting board. Freeze for 30 minutes until firm.

5. Microwave the chocolate and coconut oil in a heatproof bowl for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until smooth.
6. Using a fork, coat each chilled Oreo ball in melted chocolate, tap off the excess, and place it back on the parchment paper.
7. Drizzle with chocolate and let the coated balls set at room temperature, or chill in the fridge for about an hour to speed it up.
8. Once the coating hardens, your Oreo balls are ready to serve.

💭Tips for Recipe Success
Use Room-Temperature Cream Cheese: Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature—it blends much easier with the Oreos, making a smooth filling. Cold cream cheese can cause lumps and make it harder to work with.
Crush Oreos Well: Crush the Oreos finely for an even mix. You can use a food processor or a zip-top bag with a rolling pin. For a chunkier texture, leave some bigger pieces, but make sure there’s enough fine crumbs to help the balls hold together.
Don’t Overwork the Mixture: Mix the Oreos and cream cheese just until combined. Overmixing can make the mixture too soft or sticky, which can affect the shape of the balls.
Use a Fork for Dipping: A fork makes dipping the Oreo balls into chocolate easier and helps you tap off excess chocolate without making a mess.
Keep Chocolate Coating Thin: A thin layer of chocolate works best. It keeps the Oreo flavor front and center without being too messy.
Store Properly: Store your Oreo balls in an airtight container in the fridge to keep the cream cheese fresh. You can also freeze them for up to 2 months, so you can make them ahead of time!
