3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Balls

I absolutely love peanut butter, and when I’m in the mood for something sweet, I enjoy quick and easy treats. Sometimes, I just want to make something delicious without spending too much time in the kitchen. That’s why these peanut butter balls are such a hit in my house! • Perfect for peanut butter lovers!: If you love peanut butter (like me!), these little treats are pure heaven.
  • Easy to customize!: You can dip them in chocolate, sprinkle some sea salt, or even mix in chopped nuts for a twist.

🧾3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Balls Ingredients

Here’s the breakdown of what’s in this 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Balls recipe:

  • Salted Butter: I use room-temperature salted butter because it adds a bit of saltiness, which really brings out the peanut butter flavor. It also makes the mixture smooth and soft, which helps when I’m rolling the balls. The butter makes them melt in your mouth!
  • Peanut Butter: Room-temperature peanut butter is the star of the show! It gives these balls that creamy, nutty flavor I can’t resist. Plus, it holds everything together, so I don’t have to worry about the balls falling apart. It’s the perfect base for this treat.
  • Icing Sugar: I add icing sugar because it makes the balls sweet and gives them that smooth, almost fudgy texture. It’s also what helps them firm up after chilling, so they hold their shape. The sweetness balances the saltiness of the butter and the peanut butter perfectly!

💭Tips for Recipe Success

Use softened butter: Make sure the butter is softened before mixing. Cold butter will make it harder to blend smoothly with the peanut butter. Let it sit at room temperature for a bit before you start!

Chill before serving: Always chill the balls for at least 20 minutes. This helps them firm up, so they don’t fall apart when you eat them, and keeps the texture just right.

Roll the balls bite-sized: Keep the balls around 2-3 cm in diameter. They’re the perfect size to pop in your mouth and chill faster, plus they’re easier to eat!

Storage: Store leftover peanut butter balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.

  • 300 g Icing Sugar

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, mix the softened salted butter and peanut butter with a hand mixer until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the Sugar: Gradually add the icing sugar, mixing with a spatula until a thick dough forms. The mixture should be firm enough to roll into balls.
  • Shape the Balls: Scoop out small portions of the dough and roll them into bite-sized balls (about 2-3 cm in diameter). Place them on a lined cutting board or baking tray.
  • Chill: Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until they firm up.

Notes

Use soft butter: If the butter is too cold, it won’t mix well with the peanut butter. Let it sit at room temperature before starting.
Peanut butter type matters: Smooth peanut butter makes a creamy texture, while crunchy adds a nice bite. Both work, so use what you love!
Icing sugar can be messy: Add it little by little and mix well to avoid a sugar cloud in your kitchen.
The dough should be firm: If it's too soft, pop it in the fridge for a few minutes before rolling. If it's too dry, add a tiny bit more peanut butter.
Chilling is key: Let the balls firm up in the fridge so they hold their shape and don’t get sticky.
