🧾Apple Crumble Oatmeal Ingredients
Here’s what you need to make this Apple Crumble Oatmeal:

For Apples Filling:
- Apples: I love using Pink Lady apples here. Their crisp, tangy flavor holds up well in baking, but Braeburn, Jonathan, or Granny Smith work great too if you prefer.
- Lemon Juice: A splash of fresh lemon juice brightens the apple filling and keeps the apples from browning.
- Water: Just a bit to help bring the filling together.
- Light Brown Sugar: Light brown sugar adds a rich, caramel-like sweetness to the apples. For a lighter option, swap with honey, maple syrup, or agave.
- Cinnamon: Adds warmth and depth, making the apple filling taste cozy and delicious.
- Salt: A pinch enhances all the flavors in the filling.
- Cornstarch: Helps thicken the apple mixture so it’s nice and gooey.
- Butter: Adds a touch of richness and brings everything together.
Topping:
- Rolled Oats: Traditional oats add that perfect crunch to the topping. If you’re skipping oats, try crushed almonds, pecans, or walnuts for a nutty crunch.
- Flour: All-purpose flour works well to keep the topping nice and crisp.
- Light Brown Sugar: Adds a touch of sweetness and a hint of caramel flavor.
- Walnuts: These add a warm, toasty flavor and great texture to the topping.
- Salt: A pinch brings out all the flavors.
- Cinnamon: Adds warmth and a hint of spice.
- Butter: Holds everything together and adds a rich, buttery taste.
- Vanilla Extract: Just a splash gives a lovely vanilla hint.

💭Tips for Success
Cut Apples Evenly: Keep apple pieces the same size, so they cook evenly. Small chunks are ideal for blending with the oat topping.
Add a Squeeze of Lemon: A bit of lemon juice keeps the apples fresh and enhances their flavor by balancing the sweetness.
Choose Rolled Oats for the Topping: Old-fashioned rolled oats make for a heartier, chewier crumble, perfect for that classic crisp texture.
Let It Cool Before Serving: Give the crisp 5–10 minutes to rest after baking. This allows the juices to settle and makes serving easier.
Storage: Store leftover apple crisps in an airtight container in the fridge.
