These coconut macaroons take me back to the simple, sweet treats my aunt brought during the holidays. They're effortless to make with just a bowl, whisk, and a few basics.

I love these coconut macaroons because they're sweet, chewy, and just the right amount of fancy without any fuss. They're perfect for holidays, cookie swaps, or when you just want something a little special with your coffee. The golden edges, soft centers, and option to add a dark chocolate dip make them impossible to resist.
Don't miss my other sweet treats like chewy coconut toast, almond cookies, peanut butter cookies, and chocolate chip cookies.

⭐Why You'll Love These Coconut Macaroons
- Just 4 Ingredients: You don't need a long list, just eggs, sugar, coconut, and chocolate.
- Easy to Shape and Bake: No mixer needed, and they hold their shape so well.
🧾Coconut Macaroons Ingredients
You'll find the exact measurements in the recipe card, but here's a closer look at a few of the ingredients and why I use them.
- Eggs, Sugar & Coconut: I use whole eggs for richness and binding, white sugar for clean sweetness, and finally, unsweetened desiccated coconut for perfect texture and flavor.
- Dark Chocolate: I choose at least 70% cocoa for a rich, slightly bitter contrast to the sweet coconut.
See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
👩🏻🍳How to Make Coconut Macaroons
You can find the complete printable coconut macaroons recipe with measurements below, but for now, here's a quick overview of how it goes:

1. Whisk eggs in a large bowl, mix in sugar, then gradually stir in desiccated coconut until uniform; let rest for 30 minutes.
2. Shape mixture into small balls, place on a lined baking tray about 2.5 cm apart, and pinch tops to form a point.
3. Bake at 180°C (356°F) for 10-15 minutes until edges are golden; cool completely on a rack.
4. Melt dark chocolate, dip bottoms of macaroons, drizzle tops, and refrigerate for 10 minutes to set.

💭Tips for Recipe Success
Test Your Oven: Every oven runs a little differently, so I like to bake one test macaroon first to make sure the timing is just right.
Chill Before Dipping: If your kitchen is warm, I pop the cooled macaroons in the fridge for 5 minutes before dipping to keep the chocolate from sliding off.
Storage: Store cooled coconut macaroons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days; if dipped in chocolate, keep them in the fridge to prevent melting.
