Air Fryer Garlic Bread

There's something so comforting about garlic bread, warm, buttery, and packed with flavor. I started making it in the air fryer a few months ago after a friend casually mentioned it, and honestly, I haven't looked back. What surprised me most is how perfectly it crisps up without getting too hard, while the inside stays soft and fluffy. That golden cheese bubbling on top is just the bonus.

Now I find myself whipping this up whenever I need a quick side dish or just a little something extra with dinner. Whether I'm making pasta, soup, or even just a salad, this garlic bread always finds a way onto the table. And the best part? It's ready in less than 10 minutes, which makes it feel like a secret shortcut without any sacrifice in flavor.

Mixing the garlic butter is my favorite part; it's a small step that makes the whole kitchen smell amazing. And with the air fryer doing the rest, it's an easy win on a busy night. This recipe has quickly become one of those go-tos I keep coming back to.

What makes this air fryer garlic bread so special to me is how consistent it is. Every time I make it, the results are the same: golden crust, soft middle, rich garlic flavor, and that perfect cheesy finish. I don't have to hover or flip anything; the air fryer just gets the job done while I finish up the rest of the meal.

I've tried a few variations, but this simple combo of butter, garlic, parsley, and Parmesan is still my favorite. The white pepper gives a subtle warmth that I really like, and the parsley brightens everything up just enough. I always use fresh garlic and fresh herbs when I can; they make such a difference in flavor.

Another thing I love is how easy it is to prep ahead. I often make the garlic butter mixture in the morning and pop it in the fridge. When it's time for dinner, I just slice the baguette, spread it generously, and air fry. It's perfect for when you want something extra but don't want to fuss. And if you've never tried garlic bread in the air fryer before, this is a great place to start.

⭐Why You'll Love This Air Fryer Garlic Bread

  • Crisps up in Minutes: The air fryer gives the bread a golden, crunchy edge in under 10 minutes.
  • So Much Flavor in Every Bite: The garlic butter is packed with fresh garlic, herbs, and real Parmesan.
  • No Need to Turn on the Oven: You get perfect results without heating up the whole kitchen.
  • Easy to Prep Ahead: I like to mix the butter earlier in the day; it saves time at dinner.
  • Perfect with Almost Anything: It's great with pasta, soups, salads, or even as a snack with dips.

🧾Garlic Bread Ingredients

Here's what you need to make this Garlic Bread:

Air Fryer Garlic Bread
  • Unsalted Butter: I like to use unsalted butter so I can control the salt level. When it's softened, it spreads beautifully and soaks into the bread just right.
  • Garlic Cloves: I always go for fresh garlic; it gives a strong, aromatic flavor that really defines the bread. Four cloves are the sweet spot for me.
  • Parsley: Chopped parsley adds color and a little brightness to balance the richness. I love how it looks and tastes mixed into the butter.
  • Salt and White Pepper Powder: A pinch of salt brings everything together, and the white pepper gives a gentle warmth without overpowering the garlic.
  • Parmesan Cheese: I always use freshly grated Parmesan because it melts better and gives the top that golden, cheesy crust that I love.
  • Baguette: I use a ready-to-bake baguette with a crisp crust and soft inside; it holds the garlic butter perfectly and cooks evenly in the air fryer.

👩🏻‍🍳How to Make Garlic Bread in Air Fryer

These step-by-step instructions and photos will help you visualize how to make this recipe. See the recipe card for a printable version of this recipe.

Process 1

1. In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, white pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.

Process 2

2. Cut the baguette into thick slices. Spread the garlic butter evenly on the cut sides of the baguette.

Process 3

3. Air fry the garlic bread in at 200°C (392°F) for about 8-10 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.

Process 4

4. Take the garlic bread out of the air fryer, let it cool a bit, serve warm and enjoy!

📖Variations

  • Make it Extra Cheesy: Sometimes I add a layer of shredded mozzarella on top before air frying; it melts beautifully and gives it that gooey, stretchy finish.
  • Add a Little Heat: I like to sprinkle chili flakes or a dash of cayenne into the butter mix when I want a bit of a kick.
  • Try Different Herbs: Swapping parsley for fresh basil or thyme gives the garlic butter a completely different twist; basil is my favorite for a slightly sweeter touch.
  • Use Different Bread: I've also made this with ciabatta and sourdough. Ciabatta gets extra crisp, while sourdough adds a little tang that pairs really well with the garlic.

🍽 What to Serve with Garlic Bread

Garlic bread is such a versatile side dish because it goes with almost everything! Here are a few ideas for you:

Pasta Dishes: This bread pairs perfectly with any pasta you love, like Gigi Hadid Pasta or Cherry Tomato Pasta.

Soup: Garlic toast is a must-have with soups! It's especially great with Chicken Noodle Soup, Clam and Bean Soup (Alubias Blancas con Almejas), or 1-Pot Lentil Soup with Vegetables.

Main Courses: Try mopping up garlic bread in a warm, savory sauce from Marry Me Chicken, Pork Tenderloin, Braised Pork Cheeks in Wine Sauce, or Pork Storganoff.

Salad: It's a nice addition to a salad like Tuna Pasta Salad, Egg Potato Salad, or Caesar Salad if you're craving a bit of extra carbs.

💭Tips for Recipe Success

Grate Garlic on a Microplane: I like to grate the garlic instead of mincing it; it melts right into the butter and gives a smoother flavor throughout.

Warm the Baguette Slightly Before Slicing: I pop it in the microwave for 10 seconds; it makes slicing easier and helps the butter absorb better.

Add the Parmesan after Spreading: I like to mix some cheese into the butter, but also sprinkle a little extra on top just before air frying for a crispier crust.

Let the Bread Rest for One Minute: Right after air frying, I let the slices sit for about a minute so the butter settles and the crust firms up slightly.

Store in a Paper Towel-Lined Container: I like to place a paper towel at the bottom of the container before adding any leftover garlic bread. It helps soak up extra moisture so the bread doesn't turn soggy in the fridge. When I want to reheat it, I just toss it back in the air fryer for a couple of minutes; it comes out crisp and fresh again.

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, white pepper powder, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined.
  • Slice the baguette into thick slices.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of each slice.
  • Place the baguette slices in the air fryer tray in a single layer.
  • Air fry in a preheated air fryer at 392°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  • Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Let the Butter Soften Fully: I like to leave the butter out until it's really soft; this makes it much easier to mix with the garlic and cheese.
Chop the Garlic Finely: I like to mince the garlic as small as possible so it blends evenly into the butter and spreads smoothly on the bread.
Use Freshly Grated Parmesan: I always grate it fresh because it melts better and gives the garlic bread that rich, cheesy finish.
Don’t Overcrowd the Air Fryer: I like to leave space between the slices so the hot air can crisp up every edge perfectly.
Serve Right Away: I always serve it warm, just a minute or two after it comes out of the air fryer; it’s at its best when the cheese is still melty and the edges are crisp.
