Crispy Air Fryer Garlic Bread

Modified: May 15, 2026 · Published: Jul 30, 2024 by Estefania · This post may contain affiliate links · 1 Comment

Air fryer garlic bread is quick, crispy, and packed with buttery garlic flavor. The baguette stays connected while the garlic butter melts between each slice, giving you golden edges and a soft center in minutes.

Why You'll Love It

  • Crispy edges with a soft buttery center
  • Faster than oven-baked garlic bread
  • Uses simple everyday ingredients
  • Perfect with pasta, soup, or salads
  • Easy to customize with extra cheese or herbs

I started making garlic bread this way on busy nights when I wanted something warm and homemade without turning on the oven. The baguette stays connected while the garlic butter melts between every slice, so it pulls apart easily and gets crispy around the edges without drying out. It is the kind of recipe that feels simple but still makes dinner feel complete.

What I like most about this version is how balanced the texture turns out. The outside becomes golden and lightly crisp while the inside stays soft and buttery. The Parmesan adds a savory finish without overpowering the garlic, and the parsley keeps everything tasting fresh. I often make it alongside pasta dishes like cherry tomato pasta or serve it with soup and Caesar salad when I want something quick but comforting.

Key Ingredients in Air Fryer Garlic Bread

You'll find the exact measurements in the recipe card, but here's a closer look at key ingredients and why I use them.

  • Butter, Garlic & Parmesan: I use softened unsalted butter so it spreads easily between the baguette slices. Fresh garlic gives the bread that strong homemade garlic flavor, and the Parmesan, I like for the salty, cheesy finish it adds as it melts in the air fryer.
  • Parsley, Salt & White Pepper: I like adding fresh parsley because it keeps the garlic butter from feeling too heavy. The salt and white pepper bring everything together without covering the garlic flavor.
  • Baguette: For the bread, I use a baguette because the outside crisps nicely while the inside stays soft. I slice it without cutting all the way through, so the loaf stays connected, and the garlic butter melts between each slice.

How to Make Garlic Bread in the Air Fryer

You can find the complete printable recipe with measurements below, but for now, here's a quick overview of how it goes:

How to Make Garlic Bread in the Air Fryer

1. In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, white pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.

2. Cut the baguette into thick slices. Spread the garlic butter evenly on the cut sides of the baguette.

3. Air fry the garlic bread in at 390°F (200°C) for about 8-10 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.

4. Take the garlic bread out of the air fryer, let it cool a bit, serve warm and enjoy!

Tips for Crispy Air Fryer Garlic Bread

Use Fresh Garlic: I always prefer fresh garlic here because it gives the butter a stronger, more homemade flavor than garlic powder.

Don't Pack the Air Fryer: I like leaving a little space around the baguette so the hot air can move properly and crisp the edges evenly.

Watch the Parmesan Closely: Parmesan can brown quickly near the end, so I keep an eye on the bread during the last few minutes.

Storage

I like storing leftover garlic bread in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To bring back the crispy texture, I reheat it in the air fryer for a few minutes instead of using the microwave.

What to Serve with Garlic Bread

This garlic bread pairs well with pasta dishes, creamy soups, or fresh salads. It works especially well with tomato pasta, chicken noodle soup, or Mediterranean tuna salad for an easy meal that feels complete.

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 115 g unsalted butter, softened, 4 cloves garlic , minced, 15 g parsley, chopped, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp white pepper powder, and 45 g Parmesan cheese, grated. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  • Slice 1 baguette into thick slices without cutting all the way through, keeping the bottom intact so the loaf stays connected.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture between each slice, making sure the mixture is evenly distributed throughout the baguette.
  • Place the baguette in the air fryer basket and air fry in a preheated air fryer at 390°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, until the bread is crispy and the Parmesan is melted and golden.
  • Let the garlic bread cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Slice Carefully: I like to cut the baguette into thick slices while keeping the bottom attached, so the bread holds together nicely after air frying.
Use Soft Butter: I find softened butter much easier to mix with the garlic, parsley, and Parmesan, and it spreads better between the slices.
Don’t Overfill the Cuts: A little garlic butter between each slice is enough. Too much can make the bread feel heavy instead of crisp.
Best Served Warm: I find the texture is best straight from the air fryer, while the edges are crispy and the center stays soft and buttery.
