1. With an electric mixer beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and lemon zest until they're light and fluffy. This usually takes about 4-5 minutes.

2. Gradually add the eggs, one at a time, making sure to beat well after adding each one.

3. Combine the self-raising flour, baking powder, and salt, then sift them into the wet mixture and blend until they are mixed.

4. Incorporate the lemon juice and vanilla paste into the mixture until the batter achieves a smooth consistency. Add milk and mix thoroughly.

5. Transfer the batter into the greased Bundt pan, ensuring it's evenly distributed, and then level the top surface.

💭Tips for Recipe Success
Prepare the Bundt Mould: Ensure that your Bundt pan is well-greased to prevent the cake from sticking. Pay special attention to the nooks and crannies of the pan to ensure that the cake is released easily after baking.
Cream Butter and Sugar Thoroughly: Creaming the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy is essential for incorporating air into the batter, resulting in a lighter cake. Creaming can take several minutes, so be patient.
Sift Dry Ingredients: Sift the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and salt) together before adding them to the wet ingredients. This ensures that they are well combined and helps prevent lumps in the batter.
Do Not Overmix: Mix the batter until just combined after adding the dry ingredients. Overmixing can lead to a dense and tough cake.
Brush with Syrup: Brushing the warm cake with a lemon syrup enhances its flavor and keeps it moist. Make sure to poke holes in the cake before brushing to allow the syrup to penetrate evenly.
Allow Cake to Cool Completely: Let the cake cool completely in the pan before removing it. This allows the cake to set and ensures that it retains its shape.
